Sales people often need a quick return. Unfortunately, building a social network is a long-term strategy. However, social media for sales is possible. I’d argue that you don’t really need social networks to have a social media sales strategy.
Social media is any form of media that is shared. You can make media to help answer any customer objection. Once you’ve made this media, it becomes social as soon as you share it. This is a social object. The great thing about a social object is that it can be shared anywhere. It can be shared over email or during a meeting at your client’s office through a tablet or laptop.
A good social object is useful. It’s something that you can apply to any client interaction and importantly gives your customer a reason to speak with you and not a competitor.
